With Sheffield United’s defeat to fellow promotion hopefuls West Bromwich Albion Friday evening at Bramall Lane, having dealt with some few positives (if you can call them that), plenty of fans were far more critical following the fulltime whistle.
With the game for many showing exactly where and what the Blades lack this year as we look to challenge once again for promotion into the Premier League under manager Chris Wilder, there are those who feel our league position has more covered up gaping deficiencies in the side.
A big theme on social media as fans took the opportunity to vent after the loss was mental strength in the group and bottling the bigger ties in the division.

Took them just half time to work us out. We gave in during the second half which has never happened before. There is definitely a vacancy for someone at the back post. Two goals with a free man over __ shocking

12th to 15th place again. No plan b. Getting predictably boring now. It's been a great ride.

Some will no doubt think some of the above comments are an overreaction given the disappointment at how the game turned against others, others will agree with the thrust of the points made. A reaction in the next match would certainly help temper those frustrations though.
