The Football League have now announced the Match Day officials that will take charge of the game against Wigan Athletic this weekend.

Sheffield United host Wigan Athletic on Saturday February 6 for the game at Bramall Lane and the match carries a 3pm kick off.

Referee: Stephen Martin
Linesmen: Tony Peart and Gareth Mellor
Fourth Official: Gary Hilton

Match Day referee Martin (Staffordshire) has officiated one Sheffield United game this season – the one nil victory over Morecambe back in August in the Capital One Cup. He didn’t show a single card in that game.

He has however already taken in 23 other matches so far in 2015-16 and in those games, across all competitions and football divisions, he has handed out a total of 59 yellow cards and four red cards.

He was most card happy in the match between Peterborough United and Bury on September 29 with a total of five yellows being shown and one red. He also showed six yellows during the game between Plymouth and Portsmouth back in August.

Let`s hope it`s not another repeat and more of our players edge closer to automatic bans.
