Manager reveals the extent of Lowe’s injury

Sheffield United have now received information on Max Lowe’s hamstring injury. The left-wingback went down in the first half against Hull City a couple of weeks ago, it is now revealed that Lowe will be facing a few months out.
Paul Heckingbottom declared the news after United’s late 1-0 victory over Swansea City last night.
He told Yorkshire Live:
“He’s had his scan and it’s as good as we could have hoped,” Heckingbottom said last night. “But when the good news is he’s going to be out for 12 weeks that shows where we are at.
“It’s a huge hamstring injury, but we don’t need surgery.”
Lowe has been in great form, and now to suffer a hamstring injury is very unfortunate. The likelihood is that the defender won’t be back until December time. The World Cup takes place over the winter period of November and December, so Max Lowe won’t miss as many matches as he usually would in a normal season.
This injury now means United are light on left-wingbacks, Enda Stevens and even makeshift left-wingback Ben Osborn are still out with injuries. Perhaps it would be a wise decision for the Blades to take a look at a free agent to fill this position.
If Norrington-Davies were to pick up a knock, it would cause a lot of problems for United as they don’t have any cover for that position. In Tuesday night’s victory over Swansea, youngster Andre Brooks was on the bench for a potential left-wingback sub-option.
Although his preferred position is central midfield, he could fill the left-wingback spot if it came down to it. Brooks is a high-energy player who can play through tight spaces.
