Manager impressed with Lowe since his return

Paul Heckingbottom is delighted with the attitude and professionalism of Max Lowe since he has come back to United, after his loan spell at Nottingham Forest last season.

Lowe, 25, was a wanted man earlier this summer with Greek giants Olympiacos putting in a bid that was ultimately rejected. United have continuously stated they value Lowe at £5M. Blades boss Paul Heckingbottom recently revealed that Max Lowe will be staying with United this summer.

Since coming back to the club this summer he has played in the first two friendlies, and he has looked like a standout performer for that left-wingback spot so far. Lowe adds plenty of pace and technical ability down the left hand side. 

Heckingbottom recently spoke to the media about Max Lowe:

“I have had conversations with him. It can get messy but the only person who generally suffers is the player. Football is simple. If you are playing well enough someone will come and pay money for you. Someone can’t tell you you are the best player in the world and then offer peanuts for you, it doesn’t add up.

 

“Lowey knows I will be honest with him and we will talk all the time. Any problems he can come and speak to me, we’re really clear on that.

“He also knows we want him here. There’s no issues and I think it’s important to be clear and have that clarity. This time it’s weird anyway, with social media and all these rumours, people talk and it can be unsettling.

 

“When you’ve been in it long enough you know most of it is a load of rubbish anyway. It is generally the talk, the talk in dressing rooms, all these rumours for the first few weeks then it settles down and you’re getting close to the first game and all the focus then is about being in that team.” [Via Yorkshire Live]

Max Lowe has the backing of his manager, it’s now up to him to nail down his starting spot ready for the new season.
