Defender could make vital second leg…

Sheffield United have been boosted by the news that Harry Maguire should be fit to feature at Old Trafford tonight in the second leg of the FA Youth Cup.

Maguire, who has impressed since bursting onto the scene late in the season, with the game against Cardiff City, and after picking up a knock, was unsure whether he would be available.

Fortunately for John Pemberton’s men, the 6′ 3″ defender is likely to start the game at the heart of the Blades defence.

‘He’s got a chance. We had him scanned and he has not got a massive problem so I am confident that he will make it – the injury just needed a bit of a rest really.

‘There are no other problems other than getting the lads to come down after the other night. We have spent the time since recovering and doing a bit of work, we will do more on Saturday and then on Sunday we shall train at the Lane.

During Sir Alex Ferguson’s post-title winning speech yesterday, he commented on the superb support shown by the United fans at Bramall Lane, and was rallying for support from the English Champions, signifying the importance of tonight’s fixture.
