Blades full-back picked up a knock as United’s second string picked up a 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest.

Marcus Bent got his name on the scoresheet, in a strong Blades XI.

Lowton was removed from the action after just five minutes, being replaced by Phillip Roe at full-back, with a knee injury being the issue. Lowton had previously sat out the 3-0 defeat at Watford, and could miss out on the squad this coming Saturday with the knock, but there were positives coming from the full-back areas.

Rob Kozluk completed ninety minutes, and forgotten Frenchman Jean Calve scored the third goal to complete the rout. Norweigen Erik Tonne got his first goal for the club when he added to Marcus Bents’ opener.

South Yorkshire rivals Rotherham United still lead the reserve table, despite a recent 7-0 drubbing at Barnsley, where former Blades Andy Liddell completed 90 minutes.
