The good news just keeps on coming doesn’t it?

First we get the news that the Premier League is coming back, then we find out what’s happening with the F.A Cup, and now one of our most important players is set to be discussing a new contract.

Could life really be any better right now as a Blades fan? Well perhaps if our place in Europe was already signed, sealed and delivered at this point, but that would just be asking for too much.

According to James Shields of The Star, Blades midfielder Oliver Norwood says that he expects to sign a new contract at Bramall Lane as soon as boss Chris Wilder gives the club the green light.

The 29-year-old Northern Irish midfielder is fast approaching 75 appearances for the club and has even been given the distinction of being skipper throughout the campaign in the absence of club captain Billy Sharp, in what has been a ‘standout season’ for both him and the club.

Will Norwood be our full-time captain next season?

Yes

Yes

No

No

So when the news came through about his deal, it was no surprise that there were many Blades fans who were left jumping for joy at the news.

What about you? What do you make of this potential deal?
