Well, I don’t mind being proved wrong so long as it’s beneficial to the club.
And that pretty much summed up what happened today at Bramall Lane.
Having come under pressure this season for his lack of goals, myself included, something that he addressed ahead of the game, the monkey finally came off the back of Blades forward David McGoldrick as he scored his first ever Premier League goal, following in from a deflected Oli McBurnie effort to give the Blades the lead.
Having plied his trade predominantly throughout the Football League throughout his career, it’s taken a long time for ‘Didzy’ to get to this stage, and after the work that he has put in this season and throughout his career, he well and truly deserved it.
Will David McGoldrick reach five goals by the end of the year?
Yes
No
So it was no surprise to see the level of support coming in for him from Blades fans when he celebrated his special moment.
Things you love to see ❤️
