Liverpool have set their sight on Sander Berge in hope of fixing their midfield, according to The Sun. Currently, the Premier League giants have an injury crisis in the midfield positions and reports suggest Liverpool are keen on the Norwegian.

Berge has scored twice and provided an assist in six Championship games this season. His physique, his power and his skilful dribbling could make him an attractive acquisition for the Merseyside club, as they are currently facing an injury crisis in their midfield. The likes of Alex Oxlaide-Chamberlian, Curtis Jones and Thiago are all sidelined currently with injuries.

At this stage in the window, it will have to be an extremely high bid from Liverpool if they want any chance of signing Sander Berge. United won’t have long left to fill the void that Berge will leave behind. Though Liverpool could meet the Norwegians release clause which is £35M, in that case, United will just have to stand back and watch.

Sheffield United play Reading tonight at Bramall Lane, so it will be interesting to see if Berge is in the matchday squad. If not, then it’ll be a telling sign that he is on his way out of the club.
