Brighton’s Reda Khadra has agreed to join Sheffield United, according to Alan Nixon.  The well-respected journalist has revealed that the deal will see Khadra join the Blades on a season-long loan.

United have been chasing the 21 year-old German for a couple of weeks now. There were rumours that United wanted an option-to-buy on Khadra, but the reports don’t suggest that is being included in the loan deal.

The loan signing of Reda Khadra would mark the 5th signing of the summer for the Blades, and the 3rd loan signing from the Premier League. United have added a lot of depth to the whole squad which has been lacking in recent years. They now have at least 2 players that can play in each position/role in the team.

The young dynamic attacker scored against United last season in the 3-1 loss at Ewood Park. Later on in the season he played at Bramall Lane where United grinded out a 1-0 victory, with Khadra missing a penalty in that game, but still had a good performance.

Khadra can play as a winger, as an inside forward, as well as being more of a link man between midfield and attack, from the ‘number 10’ position. He would provide United with another impact player, and a similar one to last season’s loan sensation, Morgan Gibbs-White.

United now have a few flair, off-the-cuff type players with this signing. It will be interesting to see the dynamic of the team with Khadra’s involvement.
