Sheffield United’s backroom staff are hopeful that Sander Berge will be fit for the Championship restart at Bramall Lane against Huddersfield Town, which is currently scheduled for the 10th of December.

The Blades have had multiple injuries to their midfield in recent times which has seen Tommy Doyle and John Fleck miss games, along with Berge.

This is big news for United; to potentially get one of their star players back just in time for the restart of the campaign could allow them to build up some much-needed momentum, to regain the top spot and pull away from the pack.

Sander Berge has made six goal contributions in his twelve appearances in the Championship this season, and they’ll be relying on him to produce as soon as we come out of this world cup break.

There is a possibility that Iliman Ndiaye will miss the first couple of games after the restart depending on if Senegal makes it into the knockout stages of the tournament, so it will be up to the likes of Berge to carry the team in terms of creativity.

The Star is also reporting that Doyle and Fleck will also be ready for the Huddersfield game which will add much-needed depth to the midfield again.
