This is a bit of a left-field one even knowing that Sheffield United have some money to burn in their pockets this summer.
With links to Aston Villa’s Scott Hogan and others this month, our presumed target level at Bramall Lane has certainly shot up a touch following David Brooks’ big money move to Bournemouth the other week, and now we have another name in the frame according to the Star.
They have reported this morning that Chris Wilder has an interest in making a potential move for Leeds United’s Kemar Roofe.
I can’t vouch for the veracity of the original source as there really isn’t anything of substance in the claims, but with Roofe finishing as their top goalscorer last season with 14 goals in 30 starting appearances, he’s an easy go to with us linked with the likes of Hogan and near neighbours striker Sam Winnall. Southampton’s Sam Gallagher has also been linked a number of times.
He has two years left on his deal and with Leeds having issues of their own, it’ll be interesting to see if anything comes of this as surely they wouldn’t let anyone out when they appear to be struggling to sign players.
You don’t need to travel far to find the fall out from links to Winnall!
