Sheffield United started life without Danny Wilson with a crucial three points against Swindon Town at Bramall Lane.

Caretaker boss Chris Morgan took charge and he watched on as two returning players re-ignited United`s season.

Chris Porter, who was out on loan with League Two Shrewsbury Town earlier this year got a rare start and he opened the scoring.

Tony McMahon was also returning following a two-match suspension and it was his pinpoint cross, which picked out Porter to head home.

McMahon was again the provider late in the game when Dave Kitson headed home another superb cross.

The blades defender played a pivotal part in the game, he saw a free-kick come back off the woodwork in the opening minutes of the game, and another shave the woodwork as the game edged towards half time.

His dead ball play was a problem for Swindon all afternoon and another free-kick found Harry Maguire, who also saw his effort come back off the woodwork.

It was a thoroughly deserved win for United who ended a run of four home games without a win and it now sets them up nicely for the rearranged clash with Brentford at Bramall Lane on Tuesday night.
