Injury-stricken Chelsea is expected to be without twelve players ahead of their fixture with Sheffield United tomorrow.

Wesley Fofana, Christopher Nkunku, Carney Chukwuemeka, and Robert Sanchez are all absent with a knee injury, whilst; Trevoh Chalobah, Ben Chilwell, Reece James (all thigh), Marc Cucurella Saseta, Romeo Lavia (both ankle), are absent through injury. Meanwhile, Chukwunonso Madueke, Lesley Ugochukwu, and Malo Gusto are also sidelined.

The Blues are going through a tough time. Usually, the London club would be challenging the top four for a UEFA Champions League spot, however, last season they finished a lowly twelfth in the league. Currently, Chelsea is thirteenth in the Premier League but following defeats to Manchester United and Everton, they are without a victory in three games. They last tasted victory on 3rd December following a 3-2 home win over Brighton & Hove Albion.

Chelsea has a good record against Sheffield United. The two clubs have 78 times in the Football League and Premier League, which has seen the Blades claim 27 victories to Chelsea’s 35 wins (17 draws). The first ever competitive fixture between the two clubs came on 7th September 1907 at Stamford Bridge. United won the First Division clash 4-2. However, the last time the S2 club won at Stamford Bridge in the league came on 31st October 1992 after goals in each half from Adrian Littlejohn and Brian Deane was enough to secure a 2-1 victory.
