Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder has completed his seventh signing of the summer, but Blades fans shouldn’t be expected to see their new signing just yet, as he has been immediately sent out on loan. According to the Sheffield Star, the Blades have completed the signing of midfielder Ismaila Coulibaly, from Norwegian side Sarpsborg 08, for an undisclosed fee.

Coulibaly, aged 19, is a Mali Under-20 international who has made in total 28 league and cup appearances for the Norwegian outfit, (who were once managed by former Blades striker Brian Deane) and has scored four goals.

Despite signing for the Bramall Lane club, he has been immediately sent out on loan to Belgian club, Beershot, who apply their trade in the top tier of Belgian football. The club is part-owned by Sheffield United chairman Prince Abdullah, and these strong links will give players, such as Coulibaly, an opportunity to gain further experience before applying their trade with the Blades.

The Blades have been busy in the transfer window, and have already completed the signings of Aaron Ramsdale (from AFC Bournemouth), Wes Foderingham (Glasgow Rangers), Jayden Bogle, Max Lowe (both Derby), and Ethan Ampadu (on loan from Chelsea). The Blades have also added defender Kacper Lopata to their Academy squad following his release from Brighton & Hove Albion.

United will be looking to add further additions to the squad, with the likelihood that West Brom’s Olver Burke will complete his move within the next 24 hours, with Callum Robinson heading in the other direction.
