In this piece, I will be comparing the numbers between our centre-backs and the centre-backs that are in the WhoScored team of the season at this point.

However, because Anel Ahmedhodzic is in the WhoScored team of the season there will only be a comparison to one Championship team of the season centre-back.

Team Of The Season – Centre-Back:

Jordan Storey (Preston North end) vs Anel Ahmedhodzic, John Egan & Jack Robinson.

Tackles & Blocks

When it comes to tackling attempts, Sheffield United’s centre-backs are busier than Storey: Ahmedhodzic leads the way with 2.29 (1.15 won) tackles per game, Egan is second with 1.05 (0.48 won), then Robinson with 0.91 (0.91 won), and closely followed by Storey with 0.9 (0.55 won) per game.

As you can see, Jack Robinson has a 100% tackle success rate on average per game.

John Egan engages the most against a dribbler recording a 61% tackle rate against dribblers, with Storey at 60%, Ahmedhodzic is third with 53.8%, and Robinson at 50%.

Sheffield United’s Jack Robinson makes the most blocks against a shot or passes with 1.82 per game, Storey registers 1.61 per game, Egan with 1.43 and Ahmedhodzic with 1.22.

Interceptions, Clearances & Ball Recoveries

Jordan Storey’s reading of the game is excellent, as shown by his interception numbers where he records 2.41 per game, Ahmedhodzic records 1.91, closely followed by Egan with 1.81, and lastly Robinson with 1.21.

In terms of clearances, Storey also leads the way registering 4.37 per game, Egan is second with 4.24, Ahmedhodzic is third with 3.28 and Robinson is last with 2.42.

Jack Robinson leads the pack with 8.48 loose ball recoveries per game, second-most Egan is some way off that with 5.95 per game, Ahmedhodzic is a close third with 5.88, and Storey has recorded 3.72 per game.

Aerial Duels

Preston’s Jordan Storey is superior in the air winning 72% of his aerial duels per game, Egan at 64%, Robinson 55%, and Ahmedhodzic at 54%.

Progressive Passing

It should be no surprise to see Anel Ahmedhodzic leading the way in this statistic. The Bosnian completes 3.36 progressive passes per game, with Robinson completing 2.73, Egan is third with 2.52, and Storey is last with 1.86.

Goal, Assists & Creation

Sheffield United’s centre-backs are first, second and third in shot-creating actions per game. Robinson performs the most shot-creating actions with 2.11 per game, Ahmedhodzic is second with 1.98, Egan is third with 1.24, and Storey is fourth with 0.55
