Exciting young right-back Femi Seriki has made the switch to League 2 side Rochdale for the season.

The 20 year-old has been one of many standout players that have been performing for the u18’s and u23’s for the Blades. Seriki made his United debut during the relegation season, but he made his full debut last campaign when he was forced into a starting position because of United’s injury stricken squad.

Seriki was sent on loan to Beerschot last season but was brought back as for whatever reason he was not getting any game time. United sent Seriki back out on loan in March to Boston United.

The youngster made 11 appearances for the National League North side, and an additional 3 appearances when the club reached the National League North play-offs. Ultimately they fell short in the final against York City.

Sheffield United and Rochdale both believe Seriki is a capable player for League 2 as he has shown that he possesses quality at a higher level than the National League.

Seriki has pace in abundance as well as good one vs. one ability in an attacking sense as well as defensively.

United’s prospect spoke ahead of his move to Rochdale:

“I’m really excited. Coming here [on the back of my loan spell at] Boston United, it’s a step up playing league football so I’m really looking forward to getting going. The gaffer has told me about his plans for this season so let’s hope we can achieve them.” [Via Rochdale website]
