Former Blade playing in Singapore…

When he signed for the Blades in 2007, his attitude suggested Lee Hendrie was a big fish in a small pond.

Fast forward three years, and the former England and Aston Villa midfielder is a blue whale in kitchen sink as he turns out for illegal Indonesian outfit Bandung FC.

Hendrie, who struggled to hold down a first team place at Bramall Lane has found a regular squad place hard to come by since departing and after unsuccessful spells at Bradford City and Mansfield Town made the move east to the fourth most populated country in the world, and one with an illegal Premier division.

However, despite this, Hendrie is happy with his new surroundings.

‘It’s a little bit different,’ admitted Hendrie. ‘I didn’t know anything about it and was shocked when I first came here, but the people have been really good to me. I think if that hadn’t been the case I might have gone home, but people around the place have been first-class to me.’

His side currently sit bottom of the league, after struggling at the start of the season winning just one of their first nine.
