A return to action could be on the cards for experienced Blades midfielder John Fleck, who has recently returned to training following his leg fracture that he suffered.
Fleck, 31, looked to have recaptured his form in the earlier weeks of the season which saw him create three big chances in five starts, one of those went down as an assist. The Scottish midfielder was recording a high number of key passes per game coming in at 1.8.
When speaking today Paul Heckingbottom hinted that Fleck may be the next player to return to the matchday squad off of the injury list. Heckingbottom told SUTV: “The next one back might be Flecky. He has trained all week which is great for us and for him.”
Although Anel Ahmedhodzic, Jack Robinson and Ben Osborn have all recently returned to action, United are still without the likes of Jayden Bogle, Sander Berge, Max Lowe and more recently Daniel Jebbison.
Paul Heckingbottom told the media that Ciaran Clark and Enda Stevens are nearing a return too, but the training staff are trying to get them extra ready due to the nature of the injuries that they are recovering from.
The Blades travel to Coventry City on Wednesday evening to take on the club that sits at the bottom of the Championship.
