Paul Heckingbottom has pleaded to the fans that he wants the atmosphere to improve at Bramall Lane this season. Last campaign, the stands were quite muted compared to the noise that Bramall Lane has generated in previous seasons.

The Sheffield United manager wants the Lane to be back rocking again, and he wants to hear a ruckus atmosphere on Saturday in the 3PM kick-off versus Millwall.

Heckingbottom said:

“I hope they are as excited as I am [for Saturday]. I will be honest, I want a bit more from the fans.”

“I think they know what they are going to get from us and what I will always demand, and this is to protect the fans and the club, is 100% off everyone, not just the players, but the staff and everyone.

He added:

“In terms of that they can feel in safe hands that everyone who works with us is wanting the best for the club. And, likewise, we hope that transfers on to the pitch. Sometimes we need the fans. Sometimes we need them to help us and raise us and we saw that in games last season how important it can be when Bramall Lane is rocking.

“Just like when I ask the players to take control of themselves and not look for anybody else I’d love the fans at some point to win us games this season. It’s an amazing feeling when that happens, when you see that connection between a team.” [Yorkshire Live]
