Jayden Bogle has been out of action since February after he suffered a terrible knee injury which required surgery. The 22-year-old is yet to resume full training, however, Paul Heckingbottom has been pleased with the recovery of United’s right-wingback.

The player has recently started running back on the grass at the training ground, as part of the next step in the recovery process.

Last season, Jayden Bogle played 18 games for the Blades where he provided an attacking outlet down the right, as well as being solid defensively.

Paul Heckingbottom told the star:

“Jayden is doing well Everyone is really pleased with how he’s going and coming along. All of the tests he’s done on his knee, the ones he’s supposed to be doing at this stage, he’s passed them with flying colours.”

He added:

“In terms of his knee, it’s the first time that he says he’s been pain-free since all of this happened ages ago. So that’s really good to hear.”

Heckingbottom refused to put a date on when Bogle will be declared available for selection, but the signs at this stage are very positive.

Blades gaffer also stated that Billy Sharp could return later this month unless he suffers any setbacks during the next phase in his recovery.

United were set to face Rotherham United in a South Yorkshire derby on Saturday afternoon, but with the death of Queen Elizabeth II, this weekend’s fixtures have been cancelled as a mark of respect.
