Nigel Adkins has been happy to sanction the exit of Bob Harris, allowing him to leave for League 1 rivals Fleetwood on loan.

Harris, who hasn’t had any first-team involvement since the turn of the year, has been allowed to sign for the Cod Army on a temporary basis that will take the defender through until the end of the season with him in line to make his debut against Scunthorpe on Saturday.

A 24-hour recall clause has been put in place though with Adkins telling the Official Website.

‘Bob hasn’t played much football this season, but he is now fully fit and needs games. We still have a big squad and, if necessary, we can have him back at 24 hours notice.’

The 28-year-old was last used by the United boss back in December with him forced to miss the opening three-months of the season due to injury, which also meant he missed pre-season, so the left backs always been playing catch up.

He needs first-team football, as he’ll not get it at Bramall Lane having been limited to just seven appearances since his return to fitness, it makes sense he gets it somewhere else doesn’t it.

But do you think Adkins was right to loan him out?
