wJames Harper and Glen Little are the biggest names to leave Bramall Lane, with a total of nine players on their way out.

Long serving full-back Derek Geary has also left the club, after being unable to hold down a place in the team through injury, along with Ian Bennett, Liban Abdi, Sam Wedgbury, Jonathan Fortune, Justin Haber and Henri Camara who has already agreed a deal to play in Greece.

James Harper
Brought in on deadline day as a makeweight for the Brian Howard deal which saw him go the other way; Harper has put in a fair display throughout the season without recreating the form that helped Reading to promotion.

His name alone is likely to make sure he stays in the Championship, but his wage demands could price him out of some potential destinations.

Glen Little
Signed on a free transfer in the summer, Little did exactly what was asked for him this season, but conditioning issues meant his showings were often all too brief.

Little’s ability, and end product cannot be questionned, but as the winger hits 35 in October, it’s unlikely his fitness can see him compete at this level on a consistent basis.

Abdi Liban
Somalian striker who spent a short time with Hungarian club Ferencvaros. Things didn’t go as well for the forward as some other players, but he could return East. Much more likely to enter the Blue Square league, or be a firecracker on the non-league scene.

Sam Wedgbury
Had much more success in Hungary than Liban, but for a broken foot suffered midway through his spell. I fully expect the midfielder to return to Ferencvaros in a deal similar to James Ashmore. A favourite of Gary Speed which could see him looked after in the Blades ‘family.’

Justin Haber
Yet another player who has spent time in Hungary. Haber never made an impression on the Blades first team, despite being crucial in some off-field ventures. Likely to return to his homeland, or a second division team on the continent.

Jonathan Fortune
Almost a surprise contender for goal of the season, Fortune is another free transfer who suffered with injury. Did sufficiently in his few appearances, but worries over long-term fitness put an end to a contract extension. Likely to join a club in League 1.

Henri Camara
His flashed of brilliance outshone only by the colour of his boots, but the Senegalese striker suffered too many injuries to hold down a first team place.

Scored some impressive goals for the Blades, and could shine for new club Atromitos.

Derek Geary
Signed by Neil Warnock in 2004, Geary was a firm favourite at Bramall Lane, and but for a career-threatening knee injury sustained last season, could have played a much more significant part in the last two years.

His ability is unquestionable, but managers will know that one more injury on the reconstructed knee will see him finished, therefore, a short-term deal in for a low end Championship club is the most likely option.

Ian Bennett
Another player signed by Neil Warnock, Bennett has spent the majority of this season as the understudy with just a handful of appearances when circumstances dictated. Perhaps felt his time with the club was up, but he could return in a coaching capacity, especially considering the departure of goalkeeping coach Andy Leaning this week.
