Following disappointing results against Blackpool and especially Wigan the other week; we managed to grab all three points against Donny this weekend.

With a change of personnel we managed to have more shots and more shots on target which was pleasing to see. Before I went back to work I watch Che play and he didn`t impress me as he looked as though he`d taken his foot off the pedal a bit, but it was nice to see that he`s managed to have a decent game and grab the winning goal.

It was also nice to see JCR getting in the starting eleven as well. He`s so much talent when he runs at defenders, and I just hope we manage to keep him in the close season. Sharp was missing, apparently due to a knock, so hopefully he`ll return soon. By all accounts Calvert-Lewin had a chance to impress as well.

I`m just a bit concerned with the team and tactics at the moment though. We seem to be “scraping” through matches and not solidifying results with more goals. I wonder sometimes how the likes of Coventry and Bradford can put 4 or 6 past opponents where we usually have to make do with just the one goal margin. In the league we`ve only managed to put three goals in seven times this season, and some of those results have been close. Maybe the loan market may improve us slightly with Adkins looking at free agents now as well. I`m not sure this is the solution though. We need to build a team that can gel together and sustain a good run in the campaign.

I think we have good forwards, and I`m quite happy with the defence, apart from missing Freeman now, but the midfield looks like it may be too defensive. We`ll have to see what happens at the end of the season I suppose. I`m sure a few more will go, and as usual we`ll be trying to hang onto the talent we have already, and hoping not to take the money and run with offers.

Anyway, I`m still away so will be looking forward to following the game against Bury on Tuesday, hopefully we may be able to net a few goals!

As always, UTB!!!
