Sheffield United have extended the contract of Welsh goalkeeper Adam Davies. The new deal will see Davies stay at the club until the summer of 2024.

Davies signed for United earlier this year in January on a short-term contract from Stoke City. Although he didn’t make an appearance for the Blades, Paul Heckingbottom wanted a goalkeeper he could trust and rely on.

With Heckingbottom previously managing Adam Davies at Barnsley, the two know what to expect of each other from their previous working relationship.

Heckingbottom stated:

“We are pleased that Davo has decided to extend his stay with us. He could have gone to other Championship clubs but he made it clear he saw his future here.” [Sheffield United website]

He further added:

“Davo re-signing means we have two really experienced goalkeepers on the books for next season and we feel that is vitally important at this level.” [Sheffield United website]

United have also confirmed today that Jake Eastwood has agreed a new two-year contract, and he’s expected to be loaned out in order to gain first team experience, with the local man previously being linked with Ross County.
