We’re not there yet, but this is very much a step forward in the grand scheme of things.

How many more steps we have to take before we are all geared up and ready to play football again on a regular basis, it’s hard to tell at this stage, but at least this sort of news gives us a signal of intent that things are going the right way.

The Premier League shareholders announced yesterday that clubs could now ramp up their training regimes to get things back to some level of normality by introducing contact into the fold. This means players can “train as a group and engage in tackling while minimising any unnecessary close contact.”

Where will the Blades end the season?

Although I’m not sure what they mean by ‘unnecessary close contact’, unless they’re referring to Vinnie Jones and Paul Gascoigne stuff (kids, ask your parents). But anyway, the fact that we’re one step closer to resuming the season was something that was met with great joy with Blades fans on social media.

With the Blades pushing towards the higher end of the table and a European place, I don’t think any Blade would want the season to be ended right now.
