Manager Chris Wilder saw his Sheffield United charges take victory over Bradford City at Valley Parade yesterday evening.

Having made the trip for our latest pre-season friendly as preparations continue for the coming 2018/19 Championship campaign, goals from John Fleck, Leon Clarke and Billy Sharp were enough on the evening to secure us a 3-2 victory and Wilder took full opportunity in the game to include both trialists David McGoldrick and Luke Steele…Steele started on the bench.

We went into the halftime break with a 2-0 advantage, but Bradford fought back in the second half to tie the scores up and a late deflected effort from Sharp was enough to decide the game.

United:

Henderson (Steele 63), Baldock (Freeman 63), Fleck (Stevens 63), O’Connell, L Evans (Holmes 63), Clarke (Sharp 63), Leonard, McGoldrick (Lavery 77), Stearman (Basham 63), Duffy (Slater 77), Lafferty (Norrington-Davies 77).

Subs:

Eastwood.

Goals – Fleck (6), Clarke (34), Sharp (84).

With did have a disallowed goal as well, but McGoldrick was certainly lively in the final third of the pitch with a number of chances and he hit the woodwork.
