Friendly Announcement Leaves Some Blades Asking For An Away Leg

|

Sheffield United have confirmed a plum Bramall Lane friendly this summer against Italian giants Inter Milan.

The 18-time Serie A champions will head to our ground on Tuesday, July 24 and the match has been given a 7.30pm kick-off and as you’d imagine it’s got fans drooling.

The Star have manager Chris Wilder relishing the chance for his players to put their wits against the quality of player Inter boast.

“We are delighted to welcome one of the world’s best club teams to the Lane. Hosting Inter promises to be a fantastic evening and a great test for us in our preparations. That’s our schedule ironed out and without doubt this is the highlight of what will be a very beneficial run of friendlies.”

Tickets for the game have been priced at £12 adults, £7 concessions and £5 juniors. Home supporters will find The Kop, South Stand and Family Stand available for the game.

It’s fair to say, as I look to Italy from afar, Inter are not the side they used to be and that should be obvious to everyone, but Luciano Spalletti’s squad will still be a tough test as it’s possible their travelling squad will include the likes of Mauro Icardi and Radja Nainggolan.

Whatever starting eleven is picked for the match it’ll most likely be a significant step up from a number of our Championship opposition and it should certainly be an occasion.

I’m not sure Inter Milan’s UK Twitter team have got the right idea though!
