It’s here… No matter what you think about our rivals Sheffield Wednesday, they will be making the short journey across the Steel City into S2 with Chris Wilder’s Blades as firm bookies favourites to walk away with all three points tonight.

Any supporter will know that it is times like these that the form book goes out of the window in all-city clashes. United, who are third in the table could re-gain top spot with a victory and with a packed out Bramall Lane, the home faithful will be buzzing. Ten points separate United and Wednesday, with the Owls without a victory in their last four Championship matches.

Chris Wilder will be boosted by the return of defender Chris Basham. The former Bolton Wanderers man missed the defeat at Nottingham Forest due to suspension after picking up his fifth booking of the campaign in the 4-2 home win over Wigan Athletic. He is likely to go back into the line-up and will replace Martin Craine who had a solid debut at the City Ground.

They are however with defender Jake Wright (broken cheek bone) and last season’s Bouncing Day Massacre hero Mark Duffy (hip) is doubtful, but may make the bench.

United come into this match on the back of a defeat at Nottingham Forest (0-1) , but Billy Sharp will be keen to add to his tally after netting a hat-trick against Wigan in the Blades last fixture at the Lane.

Whether you support United or Wednesday, how do you think tonight’s match will pan out. Will it be a win, lose or draw for your team? Why not comment below…
