It seems a lifetime since former Southampton, Ipswich Town, and Sheffield United forward, David McGoldrick left Bramall Lane but has finally found a new club with League One Derby County. Elsewhere, Durham Women have completed the signature of former Sheffield United Women forward Jess Clarke.

Along with 34-year-old McGoldrick, the Rams have also completed the signing of Conor Hourihane who spent time on loan with the Blades last season from Aston Villa, as well as former Hull City defender James Chester – all on a free transfer.

The striker was an effective member of the Sheffield United squad that won promotion to the Premier League in 2019, capping off a great debut season. He played 136 games in all competitions for United and netted 30 goals in the process.

Meanwhile, former England international striker Clarke has joined Durham Women on a free transfer, and could play against the Blades Women with both sides competing in the Championship next season.
