Sheffield United have given winger Kyel Reid a free transfer, allowing him to join Charlton Athletic, for whom he had a successful loan spell last season.
Reid signed for the Blades last Summer, becoming Kevin Blackwell’s first capture for the 2009/2010 season, but after just seven substitute appearances for the club was allowed to join Charlton on loan.
Whilst at the Valley, Reid made eleven starts for the Addicks, contributing four goals and almost helping Phil Parkinson’s club to the Play-off final.
Despite being under contract by United, and in a position to demand a fee, the club opted to release him from his current deal, allowing him to return to London for free.
