Former Sheffield United reserve Wilko De Vogt could be playing Champions League football next season after signing for Steve McClaren`s Dutch Champions FC Twente.

The goalkeeper who struggled to gain a first team spot under Neil Warnock, finding himself below Simon Tracey in the pecking order has joined McClaren`s side on a one year deal.

De Vogt joined the Blades from NAC Breda, but made his name over the past six years with FC Oss, where he`s played over 200 games.

The ex-Blade is expected to begin as third choice, behind Sander Boschker and Bulgarian Nikolai Mikhailov.
He will meet up with another former United player David Carney who like De Vogt, failed to cement a first team place before moving onto better things, including the current World Cup in South Africa.
