Sheffield United striker Ched Evans looks set to reunite with Sven Goran Eriksson at Leicester City in a profitable move for the Blades.

The figure circulating of £1 million is more than the fee United paid Manchester City for the Welshman’s services two years ago. Despite finishing as the club’s top scorer with nine goals this campaign, as part of United’s Summer cost-cutting, it appears the £18k a week striker will be joining the Foxes.

It will be a big step forward for United in reducing the hefty wage bill, as one of the club’s highest earners heads for the Walkers Stadium. The £3million sum brandished around when the Blades brought in Evans, were proved to be considerably off the mark with just an initial fee of £750,000 paid, and due to lack of promotion, and injuries hampering his appearances, the full sum wasn’t paid to the Eastlands club.

Evans has shown glimpses of what he’s capable of this season, but due in the most part with injuries, the striker has never appeared at full-fitness during his spell.
