I’m not sure if fans are doing him a disservice here or not.
Trying to sum him up in just one word seems rather strange, and to a lesser extent, somewhat restrictive as well, but fans gave it their best go, and we should applaud them for it.
That was the challenge that @Blades1889_com set Sheffield United fans the other day on Twitter when they asked fans to describe Blades defender Phil Jagielka in one word.
Were you annoyed Jagielka left in 2007 rather than stay and help us fight for promotion?
Yes
No
Jagielka, a product of the Blades academy system is currently in his second spell at the club, having originally left the club in 2007, before returning to the club last summer as a free agent. Having racked up nearly 650 league appearances and 40 England caps, it’s not as if fans are short of content when it comes to the 37-year-old’s career, and as a result there were plenty of responses to the question at hand.

What about you? How would you describe Jagielka in one word?
Not a Sheffield United legend for me.
Jumped ship as soon as possible by inserting a ridiculous clause in his contract, meaning we got shafted.
Everton and England legend possibly, but not a United legend
