Sheffield United host rivals Leeds for the first top-flight Yorkshire Derby in 26 years, with Leeds getting off to a good start to 2020-21. We take a look at the Leeds United team news ahead of the clash with the Blades tomorrow.

The 2020-21 season, marks Leeds return to the Premier League after a 16 years absence,  since they were relegated in that fateful day on 8th May 2004, drawing 3-3 with Charlton. Like United, during their spell away from the top flight, the Whites have endured relegation to League One before eventually bouncing back.

They began life back in the Premier League with a barnstorming 4-3 defeat at Liverpool, which, had VAR not intervened could have ended with a greater score-line. They were then defeated in the Carabao Cup, similar to United this was on penalties. They had dramatically drawn 1-1 with Hull City at Elland Road, scoring three minutes into stoppage time before losing 8-9 on spot-kicks. They followed up their second Premier League fixture with a 4-3 victory over Fulham at Elland Road.

Over the last month or so, Leeds boss Bielsa has been busy in the transfer market. He brought in keeper Illan Medlier from French club Lorient, defender Robin Koch from German outfit SC Freiburg, midfielders Crysencio Summerville from Feyenoord, and Jack Harrison from Manchester City (loan), as well as forward Rodrigo from Valencia for £26million. The Elland Road club has also completed the £18million signing of Spanish defender Diego Llorente from Real Sociedad and could make his debut against Sheffield United tomorrow.

It has been an exciting start to the season for Whites supporters. Despite not being able to attend matches, the West Yorkshire club has been involved in 14 goals. Leeds are expected to be without Gaetano Berardi (knee), Pablo Hernandez (groin), and Adam Forshaw (groin) – all are sidelined through injury.
