It has been revealed that Blades goalkeeper Adam Davies has suffered a medial ligament injury.

The Welshman was subbed off early during United’s second pre-season game against Lincoln City behind closed-doors last week. Heckingbottom said:

“He’s damaged his knee. He followed through and Davo [Davies] kicked their lad as he was running past and it opened up his medial ligaments.” [Via The Star]

Davies is now going to miss the rest of the pre-season games and the early months of the season.

Arguably the best goalkeeper in the Championship last season, Wes Foderingham, has still not featured in a single pre-season game yet. United have some good news on that front though as Paul Heckingbottom told the media that Foderingham is training as normal, and will be available against Mansfield Town tomorrow.

Young prospect Jordan Amissah has had the most minutes out of any goalkeeper this pre-season. He kept a clean sheet in his half versus Casa Pia and in the game against Lincoln City. Against Scunthorpe however, he conceded 3 goals that were so unlike United to concede.

Heckingbottom spoke about the involvement of the development teams goalkeepers, Jordan Amissah and Dylan Wharton:

“It was great for them to be involved. It’s a good environment for them to be in and they’ll learn a lot from it. It’s all about minutes and experience.” [Via The Star]
