Another cold night on the Kop at BDTBL to see us take on Peterborough. After the weekend`s draw down south I thought we might have taken something from this match, what with NC trying to close the point`s gap on the top two.

It wasn`t to be though, there were a lot of loose passes and not enough passion or strength to break down the Posh. It was a change to see two up front last night, and I though Done did pretty well chasing down constantly. I can`t really identify another player that either didn`t make a mistake or put above average effort in to be honest.

Done`s goal was a well composed one nodding in the rebound after the keeper kept out his effort. There weren`t too many chances on goal and I noticed we`d resorted to skipping around the penalty area again, I never know why players don`t take a chance and have a crack rather than run across the area to find a pass! I listened to BBC Radio Sheffield whilst driving back home from the Lane with my son, NC said that some players weren`t feeling well, such as Coutts and McNulty, and had to come off early, however seeing these come off and then sub Done for a defender was madness. At 1-0 up we need to be going for another goal and securing the game, not removing all the attacking options. He did say we hadn`t any other strikers available, with Higdon being injured, however why not throw more attacking midfielders on? Adams was on the bench, I know he`s young and still learning but at least he`s another attacking option. All our subs were used early on, which is different from other matches where we`ve always waiting until the final ten minutes before making any changes, and to see Flynn pull up with an injury and not being able to be subbed at 1-1 you could see what was going to happen when they pushed in their second goal. Flynn was told to go up front on his own and hobble around – surely we would have been better taking him off and going down to ten men? Hopefully he hasn`t made his injury any worse that it is by staying on the pitch.

I usually listen to praise or grumble on the way home after a match and always have a giggle at Chesterfield, Barnsley, Rotherham, and piggy fans moaning, but it was our turn last night!

That`s three points dropped now though, we`re going to have to see what happens on Saturday against Fleetwood at the Lane, and hopefully we can get back on track then.

On a footnote, there was a minute`s applause for Shred, the fan who passed away before the Crawley match, and there was a nice tribute read out before the start of the match. It was nice to see the Posh fans standing and applauding as well.

Anyway, back to it on Saturday, we will have to see if there any changes for that match, and hopefully we can grab the much needed points from that match.

UTB!!
