It has now been confirmed that the Sheffield United owner Prince Abdullah will not entertain any bids for star players Iliman Ndiaye and Sander Berge, BBC Radio Sheffield journalist has confirmed.

In the past 24 hours, it was looking highly likely that the Blades were set to lose one of their key players, highly-rated Norwegian international Sander Berge.

The midfielder racked up interest from the likes of Newcastle United, Napoli, Fulham and Brighton & Hove Albion. But only two of those clubs made an official offer.

Newcastle United offered a loan deal which included a big loan fee, but United would not get that money immediately. Fulham offered £20M + add-ons, with United getting a large proportion of that fee in a first installment.

Sheffield United played Wrexham in the FA Cup fourth round last Sunday, and Sander Berge was left out of the squad, which made it increasingly likely that Sheffield United supporters had seen the last of the Norwegian in a Blades shirt.

With this latest news in the past couple of hours, it has put everybody’s mind to rest, and the Blades can focus on gaining automatic promotion again.

Iliman Ndiaye had only one formal offer and it was from struggling Premier League side Everton, offering £20M for the Senegalese international.
