The 2014/15 season kicks-off this weekend against Bristol City, but before it does Nigel Clough is looking to bring in another two players if possible.

Harry Maguire’s departure to Hull City and the collapse of Kieron Freeman’s move from Derby County leaves a central defender high on the Sheffield United wanted list with central defence also an area that is a little light.

Ben Davies has been earmarked to ‘deputise when needed’ but these two areas are areas Clough wants to fill and as much as he now concedes that perhaps this is unlikely he’ll keep trying to see what can be done, permanently or in loan capacities.

Should it go down to Friday before signings are made the boss has doubted if he would throw players in for an instant debut the following day after just one training session.

This site is looking for a new editor but would also like your blogs, so if a fan can offer us a genuine opinion from someone that supports Sheffield United we would love to share it with the masses!
