Sheffield United boss Nigel Clough is still hoping to bring in players on loan before the end of the transfer window.

The blades have so far brought in just Billy Paynter on loan from Doncaster Rovers this transfer window and with the window closing in less than two weeks, Clough is hoping to sort out deals for players coming in over the next week.

Speaking to BBC Radio Sheffield, Clough said, “We were very close to bringing in a few on loan before the game with Bradford and we are hoping to get them done before the end of next week.”

As well as adding to his squad with loan signings, Clough is also in negotiations with Livingston midfielder Stefan Scougall on a permanent deal.

There is no immediate panic to complete the deals with United not in league action until January 29th due to the FA Cup taking centre stage next weekend.
