Sheffield United boss Nigel Clough says he doesn`t expect to bring in many additions to the squad when the transfer window opens in January.

Clough, who took over at Bramall Lane last month, is trying to pull the blades away from a relegation fight and he says he wants to have the opportunity to look at his current squad for the rest of this season whilst remaining in the division.

Speaking on Radio Sheffield, Clough said, “I am not sure we will be making major changes in January, we will look to work with this group.

“I have to make decisions on the loan players we have and possibly get one or two more in but our priority is to stay up this league this season and then start building from there.

“I will have the opportunity to have a look at players for six months and see if they are good enough to take us to where we want to go.”

The blades have one of the biggest squads in League One and they have used 29 players so far this season.
