Manager Nigel Clough has admitted our narrow one nil loss to Coventry last weekend left him feeling bitterly disappointed and frustrated.

A Bob Harris own goal after 12 minutes sent us to our second successive loss in League One and obviously this annoyed the gaffer because he believes the game could’ve and should’ve gone a lot differently.

Speaking to the Official Site following the game, he explained.

‘The first 30 minutes were very good indeed, but as good as that was, the next hour or so was poor to say the least. The game was flat, there weren’t many chances, we certainly didn’t create much, but we should have seen the game out at nil nil. It would’ve been our first point, our first clean sheet, it would’ve been something build on.’

Clough goes on to say that we just conceded a poor goal again though, and it’s unfortunate because it was given as an own goal but either way it’s cost us the game and that seems to be how things are going for us so far this season and we have to bring an end to it and get ourselves back on track.

‘The turning point was probably the save their goalkeeper made midway through the first half, if that had gone in it could have been a totally different game.’

Finishing he said that it’s still not a settled side though and we have a long way to go yet as in his mind only Mark Howard is a nailed on starter, and he’s looking for several other players to find their best form, and quickly so we can start getting points on the board.
