Sheffield United are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Leon Clarke in the four one victory over Hull City at the weekend at Bramall Lane was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Clarke was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Clarke`s inclusion will come as no surprise, after he found the net four times – including the perfect hat-trick – in Sheffield United`s clash with Hull City. The Blades had trailed to Kamil Grosicki`s strike in the opening period, but then Clarke stole the show after the interval, firing the Blades to a 4-1 win over the Tigers.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Clarke for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Darren Randolph (Middlesbrough), Zeki Fryers (Barnsley), Yoann Barbet (Brentford), Ben Turner (Burton Albion), Jordan Spence (Ipswich Town), Callum O’Dowda (Bristol City), Jacob Butterfield (Sheffield Wednesday), Ruben Neves (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Gary Madine (Bolton Wanderers), Leon Clarke (Sheffield United), Tyler Walker (Nottingham Forest).
