Chris Wilder Wins a 12 Month Battle

|

Sheffield United could be on the verge of making their first summer signing with the capture of Queens Park Rangers midfielder Luke Freeman according to SkySports.

Freeman, 27, pictured against the Blades last season with Mark Duffy, was a target for Blades boss Chris Wilder twelve months ago – as well as being linked with Middlesbrough and West Brom. Despite such strong interest, he remained at Loftus Road.

Twelve months later it looks as though the former Arsenal youngster is set to make his move to Bramall Lane in a deal believed to be worth more than £3million. The midfielder scored 8 times in 48 games for the Londoners.

With the transfer window set to open next Monday (1st July), we anticipate that an announcement regarding new signings will be made within the next week but whether Freeman will be one of those players is unknown.

QPR have been reluctant to part company with their prized asset but now that the Blades are in the Premier League, will the lure of top flight football be too much for any player?
