David Carney has spoken out in response to the reports that he’s not enjoying his time at Bramall Lane, and confirmed that he is dedicated to the cause and is looking to break into Kevin Blackwell’s first team plans.
We reported yesterday that Carney had told an Australian website that he’s unsettled at the Lane.
But today, on the official website, he has rubbished these reports and claimed it was all blown out of proportion.
‘I did a couple of interviews but things have been blown out of all proportion. Remarks have been attributed to me that I certainly did not make. ‘There is nothing more that I want than to stay here and fight my way into the team.
‘I have spoken to the Gaffer and he has indicated the need for me to work harder and change my game in order to do that, which I accept. He has done wonders for United since he came to the club and I have really enjoyed the whole experience in Sheffield.
It is just unfortunate that I have yet to make the team this season having been away with Australia. It is frustrating and it is definitely up to me to knuckle down here. I want United fans to accept that the story is untrue and that I really want to do my best for Sheffield United.’
