Sheffield United were beaten by Bury in League 1 on Tuesday.
The United revival, which it was thought the weekend win would herald, was short-lived with a one-nil defeat suffered at Bury to leave the Blades struggling to make the play-offs and that would have been the minimum expected from Nigel Adkins.
A late goalline clearance denied John Brayford an equaliser for United and a point with Craig Jones’ curled effort, just ahead of the half hour mark, proving to be the winner for Bury.
