It is being reported by the reliable Alan Nixon that Burton Albion are close to signing Sheffield United’s young striker Will Osula on a season-long loan.

The 19 year-old Dane featured 5 times last season as a sub for United, towards the back end of the Championship campaign. Osula also featured heavily in pre-season, scoring a brace against Lincoln City.

Last season Burton Albion signed another hot prospect of United’s, striker Daniel Jebbison made a loan switch to the Pirelli Stadium but was ultimately cut short due to United suffering a tonne of injuries in the forward department.

Jebbison scored 7 times in 14 starts for Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s side, all parties concerned will hope that the legendary striker turned manager can help with the progression of Osula, the same way he helped Jebbison last term.

Now that Sheffield United have sufficient depth in the forward areas, this window is an ideal time for a youngster like Will Osula to go out on loan in League One to gain vital first team experience.

For a young forward to get the chance to play for a former legendary striker like Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, it can only benefit a young forward like Will Osula for this coming season.
