Sheffield United goalkeeper Mark Bunn returns to Blackburn Rovers today, following the injury to stopper Paul Robinson.

Bunn, whose Blades career finished with a clean sheet at Bramall Lane, has been recalled by the Premier League side, after the injury to their first choice goalkeeper, is worse than first feared.

With only Jason Brown as back-up, Rovers boss Sam Allardyce opted to recall the 25 year old.

Gary Speed confirmed the departure on BBC Radio Sheffield tonight, and it leaves the Blades with just Ian Bennett and Mihkel Aksalu at the club, until the suspension of Paddy Kenny finishes next month.

Whether cover will be drafted in for the trip to Doncaster Rovers on Saturday is unknown, but Bunn will definitely not be lining up between the sticks.

His Blades career got off to an impressive start, and he received a lot of praise in the first month of the season, which saw his deal extended to the end of the season. A rocky patch followed, and both Bennett and Carl Ikeme were preferred, before Bunn regained his position and dug-out some impressive performances, which included a number of point-winning penalty saves.

Regardless of whether he goes on to be a leading goalkeeper, many Blades will be satisfied with his performances this season.
