As we know already, Anel Ahmedhodzic could be on the verge of signing for Sheffield United as the club awaits the Bosnians decision on his future, after the clubs £3M offer has been accepted by Malmo.

Previous reports have stated that Jack Lester is very fond of the defender, having worked with the player in the Nottingham Forest academy. But Lester isn’t the only coach that the Bosnian has left a good impression on.

Former Danish star striker Jon Dahl Tomasson (112 caps, 54 goals) managed Ahmedhodzic for two seasons at the Swedish club Malmo. The Danish coach told Kenyan News earlier this year:

“I had no doubts about his potential.” [Kenyan News]

Tomasson later continued with heaping praise, whilst describing the 23 year-olds style of play:

“He is a modern centre-back who is strong with and without the ball. The first time I saw Anel I was impressed with his speed, his great strength in one-on-one duels and his quality of footing to build from behind.” [Kenyan News]

The former great Dane striker is now the manager of Championship side Blackburn Rovers and he’s said to be keen on bringing his former player with him [fotboll direkt] to Ewood Park.

Jon Dahl Tomasson previously described Anel Ahmedhodzic as “a great investment, because Anel is young and extremely talented.” [Kenyan News]

The Dane insisted:

“He has this big mentality, which makes him give everything to win. He has this huge appetite to always want to progress even more.” [Kenyan News]

According to reports from Alan Nixon earlier, United are waiting on the player to decide where he wants to go.

No reports have emerged of Blackburn bidding yet, but Tomasson, like Jack Lester, could be a key figure in the negotiations.
