Middlesbrough hosts potential promotion rivals Sheffield United in this Sunday’s SkyBet Championship clash (kick-off; 2:00 PM), with home supporters feeling optimistic about their chances ahead of the match.

The Boro have an unblemished record against the Blades. You have to go back to 1997 when the hosts last lost to the Blades on home soil and, since then, they are undefeated in 7 matches at the Riverside, against the South Yorkshire club.

We’ve taken a sneak peek at the OneBoro,  Fly me to the Moon, and DiasBoro online Forms, where supporters feel optimistic about their chances ahead of Sunday’s clash.

Really looking forward to this one. My first trip over of the new season. Big win incoming to kick start the season. 2-0 to the mighty Boro.

I do think our season will take off… But I don’t feel it will be this weekend. Things to get worse before they start to get considerably better. Their midfield will bully ours and we won’t have anyone for the ball to stick to up front against a strong, aggressive defence. 2-0 defeat.

Sheffield Utd is probably the 5th best squad in the league. They’ve lost Gibbs-white but in Sander Berge have their version of a Paul Merson: someone far too good for this level. There doesn’t seem to be much to say about this game. The players who were taken off early against Barnsley were possible to keep them ready for Sunday so I am expecting something like

Steffen

McNair – Lenihan – Bola

Jones – Crooks – Howson – McGree – Giles

Akpom – Forss

Subs: Roberts, Smith, Fry, Dijksteel, Gibson, Watmore, Hoppe

To my mind Dale Fry is our best central defender, so why are we not utilising his strengths?  I agree with CW that a number of them can play in different positions but we should be playing to each player’s strengths.  DF for one never looks as comfortable or accomplished when asked to play elsewhere and I wonder of Lenihan is experiencing similar feelings.

As for Sunday, I am fearing the worst.  At best we may sneak a point but feel the blades will be to strong for us and just hope we don’t collapse.  0-2.

Over 2,000 sold and a likely 2400 away sell out for Sunday.
Should add to a brilliant atmosphere..
Fancy us strongly UTB

Last win at the Riverside 1997 … im saying nothing!

I hope you’re right but I don’t fancy us for this one I’m afraid unless a couple of major signings are made between now and then
